Winecellars and chateau

The winecellars and the late-baroque chateau in Velké Žernoseky are insepareble form a historical, technical, and cultural point of view. There is a unique and still functional connection between the chateau and its spacious winecellars, becaus the main frontage doesn’t lead into the chateau’s chambers but directly to the winecellars.

The winecellars cover an area of roughly 1 500 m2 and the various parts have names such as Panenský, Jánský, Křížový, Hluboký…etc.
There are oak casks which are still functional, mostly about 3,000 to 5,000 litres in volume.
